Enjoy ! About JoshJosh Holiday Biography In 1992-3 Josh took a journey to his first party. At the ripe age of fifteen, he journeyed all the way to long island, to where his life would be forever changed. Upon entry to the event “DNA – the new power generation “; it hit him like a ton of bricks, this is who he was and what he was meant to do. The dj booth was raised beyond normal sight, so to the first timer like josh, it was impossible to discern how this incredible music was being made. Not after long did josh figure out that this amazing music was being made by a dj. Since that event Josh worked long and hard to research where to get dj equipment and how to find this incredible music that was so fresh and new to him. On his 16 birthday, josh finally got a cheap dj set up along with a few records and he was off on his journey. He continued to travel around to events both big and small, chasing the world’s most amazing artists up and down the east coast. From the likes of Josh Wink and Ritchie Hawtin, to Frankie Bones, and Ian Pooley, and many more all inspired him and helped mold his musical taste. Upon graduation from high school Josh found himself living in Wild Wood, NJ for the summer. Little did he know that this trip would help set up the rest of his life. Music was so important to him that he brought his new dj set up with him, along with his record collection. As he rode into town he saw a club and said “ man I am going to play there” everyone in the car laughed. One short walk on the boardwalk, where Josh met a promoter friend from Philly that had gotten a night at the club to through events. He exchanged numbers knowing that the promoter already had a dj, but just in case something falls through he told him. About one week latter sure enough josh got a call from his friend, last minute and had to rush to get his records ready to get to the party. As it turned out he ended up being the resident dj, not only one night a week but two. He was not getting paid much and there was not a line of people out the door, but everyone that heard him loved his music. After the summer being over and going back home to Philly, josh started his college career at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, of course taking up music business. It was here that his passion for music really came out. Although he did not have a steady gig his sound started to grow. It was at college that he made a friend from New Jersey, who had worked at a nightclub and enjoyed the same music as well. By the time Josh was graduating from school, he had a gig to play at huge party in Philly, the “Moonshine over America Tour”. Even though Josh was to tag team with his friend under another name, (known as Da Jungle Rollaz) it still was Josh’s dream come true. As time would pass, and Josh took a bit of a liking to the drum and bass or jungle music, the gigs picked up, as he played up and down the east coast, more and more frequently and at better, and larger events. Such events as “I have a dream (1 & 2)", “Electric Circus”, and the famed “Boo” events, One of the gigs that helped put Josh on top was playing at the famed “Whistle” events where he debuted in front of over five thousand people, not just ounce but two years back to back. He played along with many big stars, such as Carl Cox, dj Dan, Ak 1200, Josh Wink, Frankie Bones, Circuit Breaker, and many more. Anytime there is success there are differences and Josh sure had some with is partner. If you asked him he would tell you he decided to move on for a couple reasons. From his partners inability to dj well, to him being shady with money, to his music taste and direction, all played a role. Josh took a gutsy jump and decided to stand on his own two feet again. Even though he felt daunted by what had happened and some of his promoter friends did not through him as many gigs as before he still was making headway. Not to mention he went back to school this time for business. Josh through himself into his music, putting out a cd, that would help take him to Canada and South beach Miami. As time passed on and things changed, he remembered walking into the party for this first time. He thought of the music that first captured his love when he first started and wanted to go back to his roots of house, and techno. Knowing that just after going through a changing of the name phase was hard enough now he was going to change styles too. At this point in his career he had started to produce music as well, as dj, So thinking to himself “what do I have to loose?” He went ahead and made his first house track “Music 220”. After letting his friends and associates listen to it and getting very good reviews. Josh started to get gigs and recognition from his peers and associates. He was playing out three or four times a month at the hottest clubs in his area. Even though they paled in comparison with the events of yester year, Josh was back on the right track. Upon his graduation from La Salle University Josh decided to take his love of music to yet another level. He decided to work with a record label, not just any label one of the best out there, the innovators, made up of the best segments of the business, from all parts of the country and world, the record label known as FiberlineAudio.com. It is here that Josh grew not only as a dj but as an artist, and a member of the team, and began his next journey to make the best music he can. He realized its not about the fame or stardom, as many would think so, but its doing what you love and are passionate about. Its never giving up on your dreams, no matter what happens, its about being true to yourself. Its not just what you play, but how you play it. Its not just the feelings you have its how you let everyone feel them. Look out for this rising artist further proving that nice guys do not always finish last, and as long as you are true to yourself you will never fall. Over 15 years expience as a dj, 10 years as a professional, five years in the studio and counting ....................................... Click here to get your own player.
